I don’t think I’ve been to such a well run (and to time!) rally for a long time. We covered SS1 & 2 which was a spectator stage around Cooper Park in Elgin. Then we headed 35 miles down the road to the huge Clashindarroch Forest near Huntly for SS7 – an 8.5 mile stage.

We had three flat tows in the morning on 1/2 and two in the afternoon on 7. The afternoon ones were LONG tows, due to the security not allowing service crews into the forest to the stage end, as it’s a massive windfarm development, with associated control rooms etc. This meant we towed a vehicle four miles through the stage and a further four miles down a liason route to get to the road end!

All in all, a good day out.

Sounds like fun! We were at MIRA yesterday on Radio duties, recovery unit’s were Cam and Tunnel, nothing to note other than broken engines and a few suspended tows after the cars had hit the Armco barriers.
