Please find details and directions below for the Penrith Recovery training and assessment day on Sunday, 14th October.Start time will be 09:30 on Sunday for signing on. LIMITED PLACES, E-MAIL TRAINING@AMRO.ORG.UK

Please all people bring their MSA licence and fully completed record book.

It will be a similar format to last year with Andy Taylor busy doing unit and individuals assessments, while other training is taking place, the theme this year will be “Back to Basics” with the emphasis on safety and managing risks in Motorsport Recoveries.

Directions are;- OS Landranger map 90 Penrith and Keswick
Site entrance off A686 at GR NY 551311 (Arrowed on day)
    Nearest postcode CA11 8SR –
Leave M6 motorway at junction 40 and follow A66 towards Appleby and Brough. At next roundabout take 2nd exit onto A686 towards Carlton, after approx 3 miles entrance is on left at the old Brickworks. (Arrowed). Continue along unsurfaced track with scrapyard on left. Turn left into sand quarry.

2wd cars will need to be parked here. Access beyond here up through the quarry will be Arrowed and should be by 4×4 only. This is a working quarry and the access track changes quite regularly. Stay to the marked track. Continue uphill to the car park and meeting area above the quarry. the area we are using is an upland moorland site overlooking the Lakes and Pennines, it is very exposed to the weather, dress appropriately.

We are planning to do a bbq type lunch of burgers and sausages, if any one is vegetarian can they please advise in advance, or bring own food. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.

If you are wanting to be assessed make sure you bring your MSA licence and that your white Record card is up to date. Any units that need unit assessments ensure you have full kit as per Blue book and any dated items are “in date”.

Help returning scrap cars off site at end of day will be much appreciated.

Are there plans to try again for this training venue before the end of the year?
I imagine the site would have been a bit muddy.
